A video overview of creating templates, for template administrators. APE Mobile lets you use your existing forms - just in electronic form instead of paper. To keep the same appearance, you can import your existing forms, from Microsoft Word format into your templates. Your Word documents control the appearance of completed forms, memos and actions when they are output as PDFs. However the behaviour and appearance during data entry needs to be specified using the template editor.Templates control what data can be entered, so that data-entry matches the content of your forms and is as easy as possible for users on site. BEGIN by having the form open in Microsoft Word. Then, in the web app, go to Admin => Templates. Create a Form Template, give the Template a name, and optionally a version. Add sections and fields to match the Word form. The Template Editor is explained in more detail in a following training video. Save the template. Go into Word. Insert fields from the template into the DOC using the APE Word Add-in. That lets you direct where data entered into APE Mobile will appear in the PDF. When finished, upload the DOC into the template and Save. Then use Preview to check that the result looks correct, and Publish to make the template available to all users.
